The centre supplies two types of Wind Turbine

1. Mains Grid system, generating on clean wind (no turbulance) 3.5 kilowatts per hour.
2. Off Grid system, generating 0.75 - 1.5 kilo watts per hour in clean wind to a dry cell battery system ( we recommend 5 dry cell batteries for storage of power).

Each system requires an inverter system to use for mains electrics. We also recommend that a wind audit is done prior to installation, to assess if enough wind is available to power up the system. This will be free. However the centre will not send a technician out unless the site shows it potentially has enough wind. Each generator needs to be mounted on a free standing pole.
The reason for this is two-fold.
(1) All wind turbines generate turbulence. If the system is mounted on the house it can damage the brick work of the house.
(2) Clean wind, - the most effective system should be mounted 50 metres away from any dwelling to obtain clean wind. The centre knows where all the clean wind sites are in many counties and also how to obtain planning permission for the wind turbine.
